Introduction
We are always looking for ways to make our clients more productive. One of the most significant ways we can enhance productivity is by leveraging AI Assist to reduce the time spent navigating The MotionMonitor’s extensive Knowledge Base. By learning how to ask the right questions, clients can use AI Assist to get answers to questions on built-in operators, configuration of hardware or even help writing simple scripts and setting up protocols. But what exactly is AI Assist, how do you access it, and how can you maximize its capabilities?
What is AI Assist?
AI Assist is a ChatGPT-based bot trained on The MotionMonitor xGen Knowledge Base and specific hardware configurations for various client setups. Accessible from The MotionMonitor’s Help menu or the AI Assist icon in the toolbar, it’s available to all clients with an active Subscription & Support program ensuring 24/7 access to support.

What are the Benefits of AI Assist?
AI Assist is a big part of our mission to provide turn-key systems that streamline the setup and operation of motion capture labs. By offering 24/7 support, it eliminates the need for clients to sift through manuals and tutorials, providing immediate answers to specific questions. The more you use it, the more you’ll discover that it’s not just about finding answers; it’s about learning smarter, faster ways to get things done—ultimately freeing up more time for publishing and grant writing.
How do I get the most Benefit from AI Assist?
To help get started, we’ve created a Client Guide on the use of AI Assist. It includes several sample questions with the response they generated. It is helpful for developing a sense of how to structure a prompt. Different types of prompts generate different types of responses. When looking for a specific answer there are ways of asking the question that avoid a very general answer. As you look at the guide you will see that questions which
- provide context,
- are clear and specific, and
- include follow up or alternative presentation of the question,
often generate the most useful responses. I have found that starting with something I know, and then asking questions in different ways provides a good sense of what types of questions generate the feedback and level of detail I was looking for.
AI Assist will be released soon. If you would like to be notified when it has been released, drop me an email and I will be sure that your release key is updated to grant access.
